So I believe the mistakes or the traps that are easy to fall in as a mom and an entrepreneur are that you’re really over estimating yourself and sense of energy and time. And especially when you’re starting a business and you’re basically doing everything yourself, you have to really be careful that you have your boundaries. You have to be really good and prioritizing thing. So actually every morning I think, okay, which things are really urgent which help us with business and which other things maybe I can postpone a little bit.

The mistake that you tend to do when you’re starting is you think everything is equally important, and it is not. There are always things that have to go first. Especially with my cofounder, Victoria. She is a very good business person. She’s very good in planning things. So she brings a lot of structure. So we have really good tools like the Asana board, where we say we really work in sprints and we plan what we can do every week or for longer periods. And we really check these things off. This really helps me to stay organized to not forget important things. Especially when the team grows to see who’s doing what, and also when the team grows then to trust the people that you hire. So you don’t need to do the work for them, you hire good people. And for us, the hiring process is really important that we do quite a few interviews to see if that person really fits in. Because we’re not a big business. We can explain things for a long while. Like we throw people into it and they have to take responsibility as well. We’re looking for people, always that have their own head, that own things. Like if I give something to someone else, I ask them to really own it. I give a lot of feedback, but then they do it. It’s actually basically like having kids. You trust them, you tell them okay  this is your chore. You help them. But also you have to trust that they can deliver it. You would not send your five year old to the bakery.

So it’s a lot of stress then when you grow and good planning and yeah, I think mistakes, what you can do is like really to, to go into burnout because you think you have to do everything alone. It’s important to have a very good network. I don’t have parents around to help. So maybe a mistake that I did is in the beginning, not really getting a babysitter in, takes a little bit of time in the afternoon to take care of the kids. So I was pretty stressed out sometimes of getting the kids and doing homework and stuff. So I think the things that you can maybe outsource, you should do it, even if it means spending more money, but it helps to bring more balance and relaxation in for everyone. Cause I feel in the beginning, especially my older son, he needed help at school or he was alone quite a lot in the afternoons. So I think you have to really make a good plan also with your partner. My partner has his own business, so he’s always not around a lot. So you really have to communicate in a very good way. So we have to be really organized as a company ourselves.
