So when it comes to social media, you need to keep in mind that all activities related to that are your marketing activities. So what you do is attract the audience that you want to cater to you and that you want to sell your products or services to. So whatever it is that you do, social media, it evolves around your target audiences. And those are the grapes that your product is basically designed for. So how do you find your target grapes? How do you define them to be able to sell your products and services? Well, the most important thing is you have to ask yourself who all those people that I actually want to reach on social media, or basically any other marketing channel out there. Who are they? Where do they come from? How old are they? What kind of interests do they have?
What kind of lifestyle do they have? Who are they as a person? So it comes down in the first tab to their demographic and social factors. You have just to define them, just basically who they are as people. Then the next step would be moving to the content specific feature is over your target audience. It’s very important to know what the problem actually is because when you design a product, you design a solution with a problem in mind. So you help your target audiences. Solve any kind of problem. What you need to know what you need to get to know about your target audiences or their problems. And this is what we call pain points in marketing. What other pain points, what are the problems? What do they try to solve using your product or your service? The third step then would be, if you want to cater to your target audience with compelling content on social media, you would need to know how you’re talking to audiences actually consume information on social media.
How much time do they spend there? Right? Do they, again, their information from what channels do they prefer? What kind of content formats do they prefer it? Do they like video? Do they like brief articles or longer ones? Or are they huge fans of podcasts? Those are all the questions that you need to answer before you decide for one social media channel or in another. Because as I said in the beginning, it’s not about you. It’s actually not that much about a product or the channel by itself. It’s all about your target audience in case you want to be where the audience is and what you want to do is to help them solve your problem.
So basically when it comes to your presence on social media, you want to be where your audience is. And what you want to do is catered to their wishes and their problems. You want to show that your product is the best to solve. The things that they need. They are challenges in their everyday professional lives.
What you want to do is not to find your audience, but to be found by the audience. So the most important thing is to have a very clear vision. Who those people actually are, you want to cater to you, the ones who you want to speak to and sell your products to very important thing is to pay attention. After you define the target audience to what channels they actually prefer it. So this is where you want to be. let’s say your target audience or a teenagers or young adults, like in the age range between 15 and 25 for you, this would mean that Instagram or TikTok or Snapchat might be a very good channel for you, but Facebook would not be such a good choice. So you want to be where your audience is, and you want to do everything to be found by your audience, which means that you need to create content that brings value to them.
