Word of Mouth Marketing for Your Personal Brand

For Vedros Studio, word of mouth is a really important method for us getting business. Actually, in doing a series of experiments last year we did 120 cold call emails a week, and tried to track how much business we would get in return on that. All of the different experiments that we did were fun, engaging, exciting, created a lot of anxiety for all of us on top of that. But we found out that 99% of the work that we received is a word of mouth. And we find that through the digital age it hasn’t changed much in terms of people doing it or not doing it. However, it speeds up the process. So the likelihood of us getting an email and being able to reply quickly is a really helpful one for us. In keeping those engagements strong, our studio has an online postcard shop that we love to utilize and follow up with new clients that come through our doors. So after our initial email with them or kickoff call, even if they don’t become a client, we always send a thank you note sealed and we put it in the mail no matter where they are in the world. And to us, that’s a really great way for us to promote our business and to express our love of design, kindness and consideration to those who we invite into our studio.
