Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Transcript
Sustainable development goals are 17 goals created by the UN, United Nations, in 2015 to tackle issues related to humanity. They created this list of 17 goals to be tackled by the year 2030, which are focusing on humanity, people and peace. The role of the UN by tackling these goals is that they support with financing and promoting all the activities related to these goals. They are from very different approaches from women empowerment into finishing hunger to natural resources. And UN works on partnerships with organizations, projects and governments to make sure that these goals are reached by 2013.
First of all, it’s very interesting to connect the goals of your organization or projects to these goals from the UN. You can always promote these goals in your own social media and connect with your own mission statements that is in everything. You’ll see that actually if you are working for social impact, most likely your goals are similar to these ones. So you can always use this as an extra tool to validate the work you are doing.
