Step 7: Find Clients
Transcript
This is the ultimate question of all times, and I will respond to it in a very paradigm-shifting way. I’m going to flip the question. What do you need to do to get clients to find you? See, this is all about your inner state and your mindset. If you are in the mindset of, “Oh my God, I need to find clients” You get into the energy of chasing and that projects desperation. Would you want to work with a coach who is continuously chasing you and is in the energy of like, “Well, I need you to pay me money otherwise I can’t pay my rent”? This is so off-putting. So instead of chasing, how can you become so available, so visible, so powerful, so authentic in your offering that your clients can find you?
So what I mean by that is let’s just deconstruct this a little bit. What is your job as a potential coach towards the market? Your job is one, to keep your inner game strong, to walk the talk, to do the work that you are offering your clients. So your job is to radiate the being of a coach so that you are, you are yourself in transformation that you yourself are using the tools that you are going to be giving your clients. So you are someone who shows up as a person who is walking the talk.
Now, [the] second thing, what is your job as a coach? Is to inform the market in a truthful, relatable, and clear way about your services. So this also means being visible, putting yourself out there, you are not doing that to push yourself onto the market. Yeah. That’s a big difference between push marketing and just essence based truthful marketing. So you are simply saying, “Hey, I’m game, do you want to work with me? This is what I offer. This is who I am.”
So to allow clients to find you, you need to be present there where your clients are, which is very specific to your particular area of expertise. And you gotta be always willing to make one step towards the client and present yourself in a way that is truthful and inspiring. It’s actually that simple. See we make it such a big deal. Where do I find clients? How do I find clients again? Simplify that for yourself. Who do I need to be for clients to find me? What do I need to share with my market or with the world such that people can be informed about who I am and what I offer? How can I be in my truth, such that people who resonate with it can find me?
Say how I see it. It’s all about knowing who you are and sharing generously, sharing it. And for everyone, the exact strategy of how you find clients or let’s say how you meet your clients because you’re always meeting halfway is going to be different. And I would invite you to leverage your strengths. See again, there is so much information nowadays, people can tell you, Oh, you need to start a podcast. But if you hate being on audio, if you hate interviewing people, what’s the point? People will say, you need to do Facebook class. But if you don’t like being on video or people say, you need to write articles and guest blog. But if you are not good at writing, you see everybody has their own natural strength through which you can share your offering.
So you gotta find, what is your main channel? What shows the best of you? What can help you inform your audience truthfully about what you have to offer and choose one or two main channels of self-expression that allows you to share who you are? There is no shame in truthfully communicating, “I have three spots available. I’m available. Here’s where you can book me.” Make it easy for people to hire you. Don’t make them look undercover, uh, on your social media for the link where they can book a session, make it super easy for someone to, uh, to get in touch with you and to book, to book a session. And again, it all comes back to who you are being as a coach.
And also now my best tip is so great at what you do, that people are compelled to tell all their family and friends about you. When you are working in a zone of genius. And when you dare and change people’s lives, when you’re really, really good, they will tell their friends. So you don’t even have to chase anybody because they will come to you. You will give a waiting list if you are that, that good at what you do because it creates a ripple effect. And now I’m not saying that you should just sit there, not do anything. What I’m saying is focus on your being, because this is the beginning of everything.
When you’re building a coaching business, you yourself might find yourself challenged and facing fears. For example, fear of putting yourself out there. We’re all being visible, your offer rejection, and even fear of success. Please know that this is completely normal. And I would say, it’s actually an initiation. It means that yes, you are in business. Yes, you are taking your steps and yes, you are building something. And those fears are such potent fruitful ground for doing deeper work. Because when you do deeper work on yourself, you can take your clients deeper. And let’s just look at some of them, some of the most popular ones and debrief them a little bit.
So fear of putting yourself out there is normally linked to fear of rejection or fear of being judged. And here, uh, a tool that I often use with myself and with clients is allowing yourself to get really truthful about that fear played out. It even helps to journal about it. What is the worst case scenario? Paint a full blown picture. Just imagine, okay, you’re putting your coaching offer on your Facebook wall and they are to sell some, I don’t know, married from high school, who thinks that coaching is, is it called, comes and leaves or mean comments? Just play it out and write it out. Really, really write it out. And allow yourself to feel what emotions are coming up? Get truthful about it. What beliefs or memories is that connected with?
And then ask yourself if this is the absolute truth, can I flip that around and then write out the best possible thing that could happen or read out a new story? Oh, okay. It could also go [a] different way. I post on Facebook. I reveal my coaching offer. And then there are three friends on my Facebook who have been waiting for just that exact type of coaching, but they didn’t even, you know, they never found anybody like that. And oh, I get booked out in 24 hours. You know, that actually happened to me once when I started to offer Akashic records and intuitive work as part of my coaching, I was terrified when I was putting up that offer. I was like, Oh my goodness. People are going to think that, uh, this is too much of that. Okay. Normal coaching, but Akashic records and past lives and all that. And you know what I’ve done? I made a little image that said, Akashic records are the new coaching. And I outlined the offer. I said I have four spots available. And guess what? Within two hours, I sold three of those spots. And within 24 hours from putting up that post, I sold out the last spot. I even got more than I originally planned. I didn’t get four people, I got five people. And then more people came from there. And was I terrified when I was posting that? Yes, I was, but it just allowed myself to breathe, to feel the feelings and realized how they were connected with my earlier experiences, um, with some traumatic beliefs from the past, I realized, okay, that was in the past. Now I’m building my new reality. I’m building when [a] new story, when do I choose to believe in, is it still right for me to post this? Yes. Is that serving my vision? Yes. And so I did it and it wasn’t that awful. It was actually beautiful.
And also what I want to tell you is stay connected with your, why, why do you want to be a coach? Why do you want to save people? And when you, why is your guiding light, you realize that your why is actually bigger than your personal fears. If you stay small and don’t shape your offerings, if you are afraid of failure, afraid of success, it’s normal. But if you let those fears take over and run you, what you’re actually doing is you’re putting your ego and your fears above your clients.
Just think about it. Just pause here and think about it really. I’m going to say that again. If you let your fears run with you and dominate you, this actually means that you are choosing your ego over the clients that you are committed to serve [serving]. And that’s not the truth you want to be making. You want to put your clients first. So always ask yourself, what would serve my future clients? What would serve all those people who might be waiting, all my help, but they will never be able to find me if I don’t get over myself? If I don’t show up if I don’t share my offerings if I don’t offer what I have. They’re not going to find it if I’m not declaring that I’m in business.
So you gotta get over it. As I say, journal about it, work on it, use any method or technique that is helpful to you for releasing fear. But don’t let that fear run with you because you are in charge. You are responsible for choosing a new story. You are responsible for impacting those lives. And that can only happen when you grow able to act, regardless of the fear. Don’t wait for the fear to stop because it won’t, it’s part of human nature and being visible, visible makes us vulnerable, but it’s inevitable. But just find the self-mastery to be able to navigate those fears, become friends with them, leaning to your truth, lean into your mission and let that propel you forward.

Marketplaces for Coaches to Find Clients
Online coaching has evolved significantly over the last 10 years, transitioning from the traditional methods in-person to coaching online, in what is more popularly known as digital or remote coaching. To help streamline the process of finding clients online, there are some online coaching marketplaces that match you with clients within their directory. Here are some of the leading online coaching marketplaces that you can check out:
- Noomii is a broad coaching platform for those that are looking for a more affordable option while they are starting out. This online coaching marketplace links your expertise as a coach to the specific needs of a client within a coaching directory for free, matching you with customers and helping you grow your business.
- Another affordable option, Yourearthangel.com is a platform offering coaches organization and marketing in bringing in new clients. It is free to register and coaches are listed into a directory where clients are assigned to them by the platform, which is great for individuals just starting out and wanting to build their credibility.
- For those solo entrepreneurs, Satori is the best online coaching platform for you. It is an all-in-one client management and business intelligence system which streamlines the entire coaching and business process for those individuals that want the one stop shop for using a good platform to attract more clients.
- Finally, a great go-to marketplace for almost everything even in looking for potential clients to coach is, of course, Facebook. There are various coaching groups that you can join on Facebook which has a community of clients looking for coaches and vice versa.
Offer Freebies to Gather Leads
Another great way to drive prospective clients to your coaching business is to give a free offer, specifically some sort of freebie. Freebies can be a perfect way to introduce your service to potential clients because it gives them a taste of what you can offer to them as a coach. It also helps in building the credibility of your coaching service. Here are three freebies:
- A 30-Minute Free Coaching Session is a great freebie to allow potential clients to get to know you and your coaching service better. It gives them a sort of trial to what you’re offering and can help turn them into actual clients.
- Newsletters are a classic, great freebie but make sure they contain valuable information in relation to your coaching service and values. If it's a weekly newsletter (or daily, monthly, whatever frequency you choose), be consistent with sending this newsletter, so that your prospective clients will remember you week by week.
- Finally, an E-book is another great freebie but just like with newsletters, make sure they contain valuable information. People can see if your work doesn’t add to them from a mile away. The E-book should be an extension of your coaching business and provide a look into yourself and your values as a coach.
