You need to have a clear purpose, just keep in mind, visualize, imagine what will change after you tell your story, what kind of shift in mindset or behavior you would like to achieve by telling your story. Having this in mind, it will help you to proceed with your story and achieve success.
How best to communicate your purpose. Just state the problem you are challenging. When you’re telling your stories, it means that you want to do something differently, or you have the idea to do something differently. So you should state the problem, name it, then proceed with [the] solution, your vision of how to do this differently or how you’re going to solve the problem you challenge. And then please help people to make [the] a right conclusion. You need to summarize your story: what is the most important things people need to remember? The best way to practice and know how to form your story and what is the problem statement, communication of the solution, and how to communicate the conclusions, go to YouTube and find best startup pitches. These guys know everything about storytelling in a short period of time.
I would like also to recommend you to Google Virgin StartUp Challenge. This is a company of Richard Branson, and they do startup challenge for small businesses. They select the best startups and you can see it on air. And then they discussed what was good in this startup stories, what was bad. And they actually coach how to do the elevator pitch. That is very useful and very interesting.
