Collaboration. It’s a strength because everybody is like a box. So you have inside your box, your knowledge, your skills, your background, your beliefs and everything. When you get different people, you’ll get of course different boxes and you’ve got different sets of skills, different opinions and everything that comes with it. And it’s amazing because the human, it’s so rich in information and it’s so rich in opinion. You can ask anything to anyone and they’re going to have an opinion about it. And that’s good because collaboration brings new ideas, brings new and strong innovation.
You can develop a lot of crazy things when you collaborate with people and makes you strong as an entrepreneur because you learn how to deal with others and other opinion because it’s very easy when you’re by yourself to fall in love with your solution even if your solution is not good enough. So it’s very dangerous sometimes to not collaborate, not have co-founders and isolate yourself in this love bubble with your idea.
When I think about collaboration and diversity. I love to think about the Avengers. Everybody saw the Avenger movies, right? So you have Thor, you have the Hulk, you have Ironman, you have, I don’t know, wonder woman. No, she’s from DC. But you have a lot of different people with different skills. Imagine if they don’t collaborate or if they collaborate only with people just like them. So you have an Avengers team of five people there, all the Hulk or five Thors, or five Ironmans imagine how far they would go. They wouldn’t go far simply because they have the same type of skills, so they have nothing new. They have the same mindset. They’re going to make the same mistakes. They’re not going to have any different opinions on stuff. And they’re never going to succeed because there’s always Ego. If you have different people, like for example, a hulk and an Ironman, you’re going to have different sets of skills. One is super strong, the other can fly, and you have different mindsets because one is strong, he thinks it can push stuff, the order can fly, he thinks it can just fly over stuff. You have different solutions to problems and have different mistakes. And sometimes in collaboration you can not only think about what are going to succeed, but you also have to think on the mistakes you can make. And if we have different collaborations with different people with different backgrounds, you can make different mistakes and that’s very important.
