I am a trained journalist and I have a big passion besides journalism and this is Herbal medicine.
And in the year of 2016, I thought: I know how to write, I'll just start a blog. A blog about herbal
medicine and I started to write and to blog and the first reactions were great.
People read my stuff, people commented on my social media platform, and then I thought, there
are people outside there, they are doing online courses. That's interesting. I want to do that, too!
So, I wrote my first online course. I was very excited and put it out there and then guess what
happened next? Nothing, absolutely nothing. No one bought, and I thought, what have I been
doing wrong? I worked harder. I wrote more blog posts, I did more videos. I did this, I did that.
It is a great way to address objections, because you will find objections all over the place when it
comes down to selling. A great way to address objections is share a story with one of your
clients. And the story needs to be true. That's very, very important. Don't share made up stories.
People feel it. People have a sense for it, that you are not honest. But for example, I'm sharing a
story of a young mother with two young children and with my techniques, with the story
marketing academy, she was able to build a successful online business, even with two small kids.
And she's telling that story herself. So, go to your happy customers, ask them if they share their
story, and that you can use it. And that's what I'm doing very often. Because then they don't have
to believe me. Then they can believe someone else. Who shares her or his story.
And I remember I was sitting in my little red car and my daughter sat beside me and we were at a
red traffic light and I remember that the traffic light went to green, and I just couldn't start the
car. I just couldn't go further. It was like, no way that I could just cross the street. And there was
like all those cars honking. Why are you not moving? But, I couldn't, I just started to cry and
said to my daughter: “I'll stop, I just give up”, and she was so “Mom, what did you do?” She was
looking for a tissue, a napkin and it was not very like in her purse, like she just came from
school, you know how this looks like. But I felt so bad, and I felt so bad because I had the feeling
that I had let her down because I have worked so much, and I was so stressed out that I wasn't
the best mother in the whole world. When I'm stressed out, I'm not very patient all the time.
Finally, we left this crossing. I still don't know how, but we did. And the next morning, I woke
up and said, “Wait Miriam, It's not true that you did not succeed.” There was one word missing
and this missing word was the word "yet", and then I started to find more puzzle pieces all over
and those puzzle pieces were storytelling and sales psychology, not only throwing facts at
people. These were my missing pieces, but this is not the end of my story because I'm not doing
herbal medicine anymore, because I'm not a trained doctor and this was online.
I sold online courses about herbology that were not really with medicine, but the people that
came to me were sick. And as I found out this issue, I said, “OK, I cannot sell it to you anymore
because this is not for you to become healthy again.” So I really had a very moral conflict inside
of me. And at the time, I was at a mental program. It's very important to get mentally all the
time. I'm getting it right now and at every stage of business, it's very important to get that and at
that mental program, and I said "Oh, ladies, I give up" and they said, "Why?! you have such
great email open lines, you have such great Facebook ads. Why are you giving up?" I told them
why and they said “but how did you do that?” and then I said “okay, I can show you that.” And
then I showed them my system of storytelling, my system of sales psychology. And I found out
the great results I could do for my business, I could do for them, too. And that's how story-
marketing with psychological triggers was born. That's my system, I'm teaching now.
Like, I don’t tell people that I’m just a storyteller that uses sales psychology. I’m saying the outcome. I’m reaching people’s heart, brain, and purse. There’s a little story, even in my tech life, you can use it everywhere. Just think about the outcome you want for your customer and bring it. People are not interested, how you do it. They just want it to be done.
