From my experience with crowdfunding, I think crowdfunding is a good method for mompreneurs because you don’t have a big risk. When you take a loan, you really have to pay it back, so your business has to be successful, and if it’s successful or not you still have to pay back the loans. So I think that this is something that might be frightening, especially for mothers. Me personally, I want to have a certain security that I am not in big debt at the end, so I think crowdfunding is quite useful in this case. There are some funds for mothers in the research field,  so when you work on a research project, then there are some special fundings for this. But I see that when I talk to people and finally they find out that I’m a mother, they look to me in a different way because I think many people realize, okay, she is able to manage the family. So she’s probably also able to manage a company. It’s not always the case, of course, but especially for a young woman who might be taken as, “Oh, this young woman, she might not have the experience.” It could be even useful to show in a certain way that you’ve got kids and you know what you’re talking about. When you think about management for example, and managing a family is quite a tough thing, and managing a company too. Me personally, I never realized real discrimination about being a mother, trying to get funded. But I still feel the fear of being discriminated in a certain way or being looked at, “oh, maybe she’s focusing more on her kids in the end and not realizing her business.” So I still kind of feel this fear. Most of the time I make very positive experience with showing that I’m a mother. But even then when I try to say, “yeah, I’m really focused on the business, I will realize that, don’t worry.” So again, my fear comes into the way I behave. I don’t know if this is actually good or bad in the end, so I can’t really give any advice about it, but I can just share my experience that usually the people are very open and see it as a positive, positive thing that you’re experienced with being a mother.
