4 Phases of Menstrual Cycle
Did you know that your menstrual is made up of four distinct phases encompassing Menstrual, Follicular, Ovulatory, and Luteal Phases? During these phases, we, women, experience various changes to our bodies and mind. This additional resource tells you the superpowers you have during each phase:
Phase 1, Menstruation: This is your period phase, which lasts for around 2-7 days. Because you have low estrogen and progesterone levels, this is a period of calm and peace. This is exactly why it’s the perfect time for reflection and it’s your superpower during this phase! Take the time to look inward, write down your thoughts, and set intentions and goals.
Phase 2, Follicular: This comes after your period and lasts for 5-10 days when your estrogen and energy increase. Your superpower is to act! Work on the things you wrote down in phase 1, brainstorm, plan, and get creative!
Phase 3, Ovulation: This is the peak of your cycle when your testosterone and estrogen are at their highest for 3-4 days! This is when you feel most good about yourself, confident, and social! Your superpower is your energy during this phase – it’s a great time to move, public speak, make a pitch, set meetings, and network!
Phase 4, Luteal: This is the last 2 weeks of your cycle where progesterone is still high but slowly drops. You will have less energy so it’s time to slow down. Your superpower is creativity and completing those tasks you set out to do! Use this time to work and get things done for the month.
