So, how do you overcome the fear of being a female leader? First, I think there is one important point, it’s to let people talk. My mom was a doctor, and one of her specialties was accident management; and she’s told me that, when you’re reporting on an accident, you should never ever hang up. It’s up to the rescuer to decide when they have enough information to make a decision. And, I think, women should do the same for their career. They should dare to ask for a change in scope, salary increase, or a job promotion. They should dare to apply to a new job, or answer a headhunter and let them say no. If you’ve always gotten a yes, then it means you’re under-leveraging your potential. And if you’ve been educated to be a “good girl”, you will have to fight against your principal and dare to be taking risks, and fail. This is how you overcome fear. It’s actually testing: where are the limits of your fear?
